I first want to say thank you, thank you, thank you! I love my gifts so much, I can’t even explain it in an email. The Clue game is beautiful and I can’t wait to play it (gently of course). The swag relating to my short story was so thoughtful and let’s face it, super cool! I will wear the t-shirt during the author signing for the Malice Domestic Anthology in Maryland next year and I know everyone will be jealous. You guys are such a great book club and I can’t thank you enough!

We had what I am calling an epic party this year. I think it was one of the most fun ones yet. I don’t know if it was the bartender’s drinks, the fact that it was a Friday and everyone knew they didn’t have to get up for work the next day, or just the fact that we’re all crazy and fun. But it was a great time and always my favorite party of the year.

We ate (delicious food was brought by all), we drank, we talked, we laughed, we opened gifts and books, and we stole from each other. We actually discussed the book too, A Christmas Party by Georgette Heyer. We had quite a few DNRs (Did Not Read) and DNFs (Did Not Finish). Dave even posed for a photo of his DNR, you’ll be able to see this on Wiki soon. A few of us loved the book: Denise and Janice gave it a 9; Janine, Sharon L., and Kerry gave it an 8; Jose and Jeff were at 7. On the lower end, Jay was at 5.5, and Amy and Raj were at 5.

We all agreed, even those of us who liked it, that it was wordy. We liked the era and felt the characters were well developed. We even managed to like Stephen in all his disagreeable-ness. Many members hadn’t read the author before. Janine was charmed, Amy had to slog through it, and Janice liked the Laurel & Hardy components. Many of us guessed whodunit but none of us guessed howdunit.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas & Hannukah and then a Happy New Year. I will see you all on January 22nd when we meet to discuss Mary Kubica’s Every Last Lie. I will lead and Jay will bring snacks. I still have slots open for 2018, so if you want to bring snacks or have a burning desire to lead, let me know.

P.S. Can't wait for this:
